Cheney's Crippled Heart

Up to now in miracles I've found it hard to believe
that are meant the gullible to deceive.
Tales of a chap who did not survive,
who was buried when dead, but then again was alive.

Could that have been the work of the same ethereal spirit divine
who is also responsible for intelligent design?
But now comes news of a miracle I thought was a jest
about a ticker being placed in Dick Cheney's chest.

The organ must be one that is deluxe
as it is said to have cost a million bucks
But if transplants can only in fertile ground thrive
how can it be expected to keep Dick alive?

Unkind folk are looking at the event askew
and claim he must have jumped the queue.
Then there are those who, trying to be smart,
ask how Dick Cheney could possibly have a heart.

Perhaps we should from making snide remarks abstain
and hope that George W. can now be given a brain.
Meanwhile, let's do the decent thing and raise a cheer
for the Iraq war's most notorious profiteer.
